This photo shoot hosted by Minneapolis Marriott Southwest on a chilly Minnesota February day was a “Take Two” effort. A week earlier the first attempt was rescheduled due to yet another major snowstorm/blizzard that blew through our fine state. This particular morning was a cocoon of spring in the midst of a long winter.
Emmy of Posies and Poise conceptualized this lemon yellow and olive green shoot. Complete with both lemons and olive branches, the inside of the Minneapolis Marriott SW became a lovely interlude from the winter weather. The snow outside made for some gorgeous shots from Courtney of Courtney June Photography, the other author of this event. The Marriott has a wonderful outdoor ceremony site, but we think these inside shots are lovely as well.
For our part, we used yellow tulips, spider mums, craspedia, protea and roses for the bouquet, boutonniere, ceremony and table designs and cake decor. Adding in olive branch and other foliage, we think all blended well with the slate table numbers, name tags and other signage.
We have additional photos in the Gallery. Please enjoy them as well.

In September of 2019 I was the owner and lead designer of a successful wedding floral design and styling business in Minnesota, and quite content with things as they were. As life would have it, however, my husband's job moved us 350 miles away. Leaving children, grandchildren, our home and my business behind, we made the move and settled in by early February 2020, just as #Covid19 started trending everywhere.
As a way to manage the upheaval of the move and the isolation of the pandemic, I turned my creativity to painting, crafting and photography. Always an entrepreneur and not yet ready to retire, I decided to start another business, One Precious Pearl...the Next Chapter.
Combining mixed media art with bookbinding, I now design and sell journals of various types. They range from vintage, modern vintage or mid century, junk, art, writing, faith or commonplace journals. I also welcome and thoroughly enjoy commissioned pieces!
