When I first met with Jen and Jon to discuss their April 14th wedding, they acknowledged it could be cool and maybe even cloudy with rain. They expressed a strong desire to make the inside of the JX Event Center in Stillwater feel as much like spring as possible, just in case. Well, there was that and a record setting snow storm turned blizzard that dropped 22″ of snow, shutting down streets and highways, but certainly not the love and the fun. Late in the evening I asked a beaming Jen if she was enjoying her day. Her response was “everyone we love risked their lives to be with us, we have to be enjoying ourselves!”. Despite all the complications, this couple loved their day almost as much as they love each other. What a privilege to be a part of it! Thanks Jen and Jon!

We were personally delighted to work with these amazing vendors that day: Lasting Impressions Weddings, JX Event Venue, Midwest Sound DJ Entertainment, Just Cuz Beauty Boutique & Style Squad, Brian Bossany Photography, Marna’s Catering, and of course One Precious Pearl Floral Design
(Michael, Leah and I would also like to give a personal shout out to MarX Fusion Bistro in Stillwater for feeding us regardless of their restaurant closing. They also got us toothbrushes and toothpaste for our unexpected overnight stay. Amazing food with outstanding service!)

In September of 2019 I was the owner and lead designer of a successful wedding floral design and styling business in Minnesota, and quite content with things as they were. As life would have it, however, my husband's job moved us 350 miles away. Leaving children, grandchildren, our home and my business behind, we made the move and settled in by early February 2020, just as #Covid19 started trending everywhere.
As a way to manage the upheaval of the move and the isolation of the pandemic, I turned my creativity to painting, crafting and photography. Always an entrepreneur and not yet ready to retire, I decided to start another business, One Precious Pearl...the Next Chapter.
Combining mixed media art with bookbinding, I now design and sell journals of various types. They range from vintage, modern vintage or mid century, junk, art, writing, faith or commonplace journals. I also welcome and thoroughly enjoy commissioned pieces!
